Kennedy & Mosier capture huge wins at Fredericktown

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- (Sept.19, 2003) Kenny Kennedy of Farmington and Kevin Mosier of Stoney Point were both big feature winners at the Fredericktown Raceway Friday night. Kennedy sparkled in his victory in the Modified class while Mosier earned his big victory in the Hobby Stock/Sportsmen class.

In the Modified feature, Kennedy and Scott Weber started on the front row with Joe Giesler and Brent Thompson right behind them in row two. Weber was able to jump out to an early lead, but developed problems later in the race. Kennedy, who had been running hot on Weber's tail, took over the lead and was never headed. Tommy Worley Sr. finished in second place with Danny Resinger third, Adam Parmeley fourth and Leo Kieffer fifth. They were followed by Chris Hall, Gary Johnson, Scott Carron, Lynn Edgar and Weber.

Weber won the first heat race with Worley Sr. second and Parmeley third. Kennedy won the second heat with Jim Swift second and Jeff LeBaube third. Giesler won the third heat with Brian Worley second and Carron third. Thompson won the fourth heat with Hall second and Resinger third. Weber won the trophy dash with Kennedy second and Giesler third. There were 28 modifieds on hand.

In the Hobby Stock/Sportsmen class, Kevin Mosier continued his outstanding season at the Fredericktown Raceway by picking up the checkered flag in the feature. Karl Francis settled for second place with Mike Nickelson third, Matt Eaton fourth and Doug Savage fifth. They were followed by Kenny Kennedy (driving Kasey Nation's #26), Brad McKinnon, Greg Stumbaugh, Jeremy Greenwalt and Mark Howell.

Chris Boyd won the first heat race with Francis second and McKinnon third. Mosier won the second heat with Greenwalt second and Paul Belken third. Nickelson won the third heat with Todd McGraw second and Howell third. Mosier won the trophy dash with Francis second and Greenwalt third. There were 21 Hobby Stocks/Sportsmen on hand.

Kenny "The Hustler" Harris of Desloge was a triple crown winner in the RAMS Mini Stock Points race. Harris won the feature with Dave "The Wolf" Wofford second, Rich Ruch third, Bill Nickelson fourth and Mike Meyer fifth. They were followed by Jason Brewington, Mike Henderson, Joe Ketcherside, Marty Boyer and Brian Cox.

Harris won the first heat with Brewington second and Wes Kintz third. Wofford won the second heat with Nickelson second and Cox third. Harris won the trophy dash with Wofford second and Nickelson third.

In the Pure Street class, Theran Pearl of Bismarck also captured a triple crown by winning his feature, heat race and trophy dash. In the feature Pearl was the winner with Wayne Frymire second, Patrick Naeger third, Chris Webb fourth and Josh DeSpain fifth. They were followed by Brian Montgomery, Chad DeSpain, Lenny Terrell, Brad Thurston and Bill Kinney.

Kinney won the first heat with Travis Goodman second and Chad DeSpain third. Pearl won the second heat with Frymire second and Webb third. Pearl won the trophy dash with Frymire second and Chad DeSpain third.

Racing action at the Fredericktown Raceway will continue this Friday night with the Modifieds, Hobby Stocks/Sportsmen, RAMS Mini Stocks, Amateur ATVs and the Wannabees/Hornets. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7:30. In case of rain, the event will be held on Sunday with gates opening at 2 p.m. and racing at 3:30. For more information phone (573) 783-3901.
