SASCAR returned to the Killarney circuit in Capetown for the finale of the 2000 inaugaral series. As before the meeting included a shootout on the Killaney short oval as well as two heat races on the road course.

As he has done ever since he arrived, former Formule Ford star Johan Fourie put his car on pole, followed by Morgenrood , the dominant driver until the arrival of Fourie. Former touring car ace Deon Joubert , in his second SASCAR race, qualified third, while series leader George Fouche qualified fifth.

Race 1

Johan Fourie and Deon Joubert moved clear of their opposition in race 1. However, behind them there was a titanic batle between series leader Fouche and multiple winner Ben Morgenrood, finally won by the latter.

Further back JJ Maree and donut king Kosie Swanepoel fought it out for 5th place, while a down on power Peter Lindenberg beat Grant van Schalkwyk who was suffering from brake problems and had to pit. Zane Pearce improved on his usual performance by spinning only once instead of three times which is more usual. <pre> HI-Q/BARNETTS AUTO SPARES RACE 1 RESULTS: (10 laps)

Race 2

Fourteen V8 SASCARS totaling 7,000 horsepower started the final race, which had immediate excitement with a coming-together on the first corner. As usual Johan Fourie took the lead, with Joubert leading the chase. Kosie Swanepoel took Morgenrood down the pit straight, painting the pit wall green in the process. The race was red-flagged when Rob Beamont had his Chev spun out by Neville Rossouw and then T-boned by his own team mate.

Johan Fourie was back in the lead after the restart, chased as before by Joubert who had to fend off Morgenrood. Contact between the two sent them both farming, which dropped them right back with Swanepoel taking second place, followed by JJ Maree and Peter Lindenberg and the rest of the bunch. <pre> HI-Q/BARNETTS AUTO SPARES RACE 2 RESULTS: (10 laps)
