Notes: Ken Knight swept the night winning the "A" dash and "A" main as well as setting the fast time... Knight won the $200 bounty posted for the first driver to beat Brian Norton, who had won the previous three races of this year... Norton and Ronnie Allen tangled several times during the event, first while battling for the lead. Allen later retired with a flat tire and Norton finished 13th....Allen led the first five laps with Chuck Koob leading the next two before Knight took over....Three cautions slowed the event.
Street Stock division competitors had a rough night with many taking home wrecked cars... Rookie Joe Massaira started the night out crashing nearly head on during qualifying. He later returned for his heat, minus the front end sheet metal, but suffered overheating problems...In the first heat for the "A" division cars, David Kensler got loose on the start and nearly all the heat's participants piled up in turn four. Scott Selmi, Terry Lilley, Randy DeMaggio, Dave Tanner and Randy Casey all retired to the pits with damaged cars. Lilley's and Casey's damage was too great and both were done for the night. Rich Grzych graciously allowed Casey to borrow his car to start the "A" main...
