Superfans Up For Mid-State Money at New Egypt
New Egypt, NJ (April 30) -- Are you Kenny Brightbill's biggest supporter? Do you follow Billy Pauch from track to track? Are you Jeff Gordon's most loyal fan? Or is Earnhardt your main man? If you're a Superfan on any level of the sport, you can make some quick money at New Egypt Speedway, as Mid-State Communications expands its popular Cash Dash program for racers to include a monthly "Ride Along" contest for the sport's most devoted fans.
Once a month, starting on May 15, four spectators decked out in the most outrageous fanwear will be selected from the grandstands, and matched with a driver in the five-lap Cash Dash by luck of the draw. The Superfan whose driver wins the evening's Dash event will be escorted to victory lane, have a picture taken with the winning driver, and receive a "Ride Along" plaque and $150 cash, courtesy of Mid-State.
"We'll be looking for fans who aren't afraid to show complete and utter support for their favorites," said Jim Potts, president of Mid-State Communications. "We'd like the fans to have a lot of fun with this."
The "Ride Along" contest will be added to New Egypt's program on May 15, June 12, July 17 and August 21. The "fan friendly" New Egypt Speedway also gives away a bicycle every week to some lucky youngster, among other fan freebies. A monster truck is a new addition to the expanded playground area, and two electric ride-on cars are on site for the toddler set. Also for the fans: Jeff Gordon's Busch series car will be on display at the track's Pepsi Night of Champions on Tuesday, June 22, with Pepsi-Cola supplying many fan giveaways.
