Dixie and Rome Speedways Announce Fun Filled, Action Packed, 41 event Million Dollar Schedule for 2005

Woodstock, GA. Forty -one events await the fans and race teams that attend Dixie & Rome Speedways this season. Purses and awards of nearly $1,000,000 combined with many special events and added attractions will provide something for everyone in 2005.

"Wow, what a schedule! I think we've about covered everything that anybody would want to watch or participate in at Dixie and Rome in 2005. The support of our many fans and race teams is what allows us to put together a season like this for them. The excitement is building as the first event draws closer and closer. I truly believe 2005 will be our best yet," said Mike Swims VP and General Manager of Dixie and Rome Speedways.

The tracks will offer a strong line up for fans in the upcoming season headlined by the weekly full racing program that consists of the Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, the "Crate Engine" Sportsman division, Cruisers, Econo Bombers, and Super Bombers. The Pre-Season action at Dixie will begin on March 19 with the 2nd Annual Spring Championships. The official season opener and first points race of the season will take place Saturday night, May 7. Followed by the 36th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday night, May 14 with $7 grandstand admission. Open practice - Test & Tune sessions for all divisions will be held on Saturday nights, March 12 and April 30. The Vintage Car Nationals will also appear on April 30. Other special events and added attractions at Dixie will include Kids Nights on the 2nd Saturday of each month with the popular Bicycle Races, and "Big Car" Demolition Derbies on the 4th Saturday of each month.

The Monster Trucks will return to Woodstock for 2 big weekends in 2005. Grave Digger and Bigfoot will headline a star studded field of the nation's fastest Monster Trucks for the Carl Black Dixie Nationals on Friday and Saturday night, April 15 & 16 and again later in the season on Friday and Saturday night, September 23 & 24.

Dixie fans can also expect to see some of the best touring Super Late Model drivers in the country when they come in to challenge the "hometown heroes" on Saturday night, June 4 for the first time ever Triple 20's that will be tied in to the Papa John's Southern All Stars Championship on Saturday night June 18 paying $5,000 to win with a special bonus to be announced. On Saturday night, September 17 it's for the Bill Ingram Memorial Topless event with a possible $5,000 to win. The 15th Annual Dixie Shootout Weekend kicks off with the Jimmy Mosteller Classic paying $10,000 to win on Friday night, October 7. The Shootout finale will be on Saturday night, October 8 with a "no time trials - draw for heats" format paying another $10,000 to win. There's a $10,000 bonus to the highest finishing driver on Saturday that attempted to qualify on Friday night and another $10,000 to any driver that wins both nights - plus another $10,000 bonus if that driver is a past Shootout winner making $50,000 possible to win.

In addition to competing in the weekly full racing program the "Crate Engine" Sportsman division will be eligible to run the "Carl Black Performance Top Tracks Finals" on Friday and Saturday night, November 11 & 12. This event will be for Late Model/Sportsman type carswith crate engines and will pay $4000 to the winner. Carl Black Buick Pontiac GMC will be giving away a free GM crate motor at this event. A driver must purchase a crate motor from Carl Black Performance in 2005 to be eligible for the drawing. Carl Black Performance is located on Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, Georgia.

The Outlaw Sprint Cars come to town for two events in 2005. The first stop for the USCS will be Saturday night, August 6 for the Hardee's Outlaw Sprint Car Nationals. Then again on Saturday night, October 29, in conjunction with Atlanta Motor Speedway for the "King of the Ovals" finale. Friday night, October 28 the USCS is set tentatively to compete on the ¼ asphalt track at Atlanta Motor Speedway following Nextel Cup time trials before they hit the "Dixie Dirt" to crown the "King of the Ovals."

The Limited Late Models division that competes in the weekly full racing program will also have some "Big bucks" to look forward to with Championships scheduled for October 1, October 29 and November 12.

The Econo Bombers, Super Bombers and Cruisers will also have their night in the spot light for the Fall Championships on Saturday night, October 16.

Holiday weekends will be plenty festive again this year. On Independence Day Weekend Dixie will host stock car racing and fireworks on Saturday night, July 2 along with Freestyle Motorcross. On Labor Day weekend the track will also have fireworks with a special all new "Team Racing" concept for the stock cars. The top 10 in points from each division will be randomly selected to form 10 teams representing 1 car in each division. Drivers will compile points in each of their races during the evening with the winning team (team scoring the highest # of points when combining all scores together) splitting up a $5000 bonus.

The 2005 points championship will be split into 3 segments with "Double Dollars" nights schedule for the ending of each one. On Saturday night June 11, July 16, and September 10 all Top 10 drivers in the weekly full racing program divisions will be eligible for double purse to the highest finishing driver in each class for that position.

Other specials will include the return of the Chain Race on July 30 for the Cruiser Cars where 3 cars are chained together front to rear. The race will pay $500 to win and promises to be action packed as the Cruiser Class will have the opportunity to "chain race" in place of their normal weekly feature.

Fans will also be treated to plenty of 4 cylinder action in 2005 with the return of the Pony Stock class on Saturday nights March 12, May 21, August 20 and October 1. There will also be 4 cylinder Demolition Derbies at Dixie on May 21, July 16, August 20.

Saturday night, May 21 will also be M.U.S.T. Ministries food drive night. Dixie will host a full racing program for only $5 adult grandstand admission with 5 food items to benefit M.U.S.T. Ministries. A list of approved food item choices will be announced prior to the event. The track will also host a fundraiser for the new Children's Shelter in Cherokee County on a date to be announced in the near future.

Mom and Dad get a price break for Back to School Night August 27 with only $7 adult grandstand admission for the Demolition Derby and full racing program. And certainly everyone will want to mark their calendars for "Everybody's a Dollar" night on Saturday, October 15 when all fans of all ages will be admitted for $1 per person, the lowest admission price in the history of Dixie Speedway.

Sister track Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia is set for a 6 event special event schedule that kicks off with the 2005 Season Opener on Memorial Day weekend. On Sunday night, May 29 the Floyd county half mile will play host to the Southern All Star Summer Thunder Series paying $2000 to win followed by the Outlaw Sprint Cars of the USCS and on Sunday night, June 12. On Sunday night, July 3 it's the Coca Cola Super Late Model Championship paying $3000 to win plus fireworks and full racing program. Then the Southern All Stars Super Late Model Championship paying $5000 to win on Sunday night, July 17 plus a full racing program. The annual Rome Boss for Super Late Models on Sunday night, September 4 plus a full racing program and the 1st Annual "Half Mile Championship" for Late Model/ Sportsman Crate Engines paying $1500 to win on Sunday night, October 2 with Freestyle Motorcross, Econo and Super Bombers, Cruisers, and Pony Stocks.

2005 reserved seat season tickets for the top 2 rows at Dixie are available for only $250.00 until Jan 30. The price will be $275.00 after January 30. Rome Speedway will not be selling reserved seats in 2005. All events are general admission first come first serve seating at Rome.
