Dana Moore, of El Cajon, CA. qualified with the fastest time for the 3rd time in a row Saturday night at Cajon Speedway in her Cuddeback / Curves For Women Legends Car. Moore dominated the Pro Class heat race by leading all laps and finishing nearly half a track length ahead of the second place cars. Moore did have some bad luck when she rolled the dice for a six, which inverted her to a sixth place start for the main event. After getting caught up in traffic and avoiding two close call wrecks she was able to finish with a solid 3rd place.
During the main event the front two cars were able to get clean track and pulled away from the rest of the field. Moore was able to cut the lead cars distance in half but ran out of time to catch them. "I got caught up in traffic off the restarts. That's the problem with inversions! You wind up behind slower cars and it can make for a dangerous situation. There was a wreck in front of me that I just barely missed." Said Moore. Moore slammed into the back of Brent Jones pushing them both through the wreck. "I knew I was going to hit him there was no way around. I lined up our bumpers so I would hit him square. I didn't want to spin him out or lock up our bumpers." Said Moore.
Dana Moore has just one race left at Cajon Speedway for the 2002 season. She currently sits in a very close 3rd in the point's race. The last race of the season will determine this years Legends Car Champion at Cajon Speedway. The final race showdown is set for October 12, 2002.
