Dana Moore Gets Her First Legend Car Win
Dana Moore, of El Cajon, California claimed her first win in the Legends Car Series at Barona Speedway Saturday night. It was only the second time Moore has ever raced on a dirt track. She qualified second for the race starting behind long time dirt track racer Dave Doll.
The grid was inverted leaving the fastest qualifiers, Moore and Doll, starting in the back of the pack. Moore quickly worked her way to the front taking a commanding lead for most of the race. "I knew it would be a race of patience. I worked my way out front and got some clear laps to take a strong lead. I tried to rest myself for a few laps knowing that Dave Doll was fast and would inevitably catch up. He is a tough competitor so it wasn't easy to hold him off. It's great to get that first win!" Said Moore.
That first win came on just the Tenth start of Moore's first season in the Legends Car Series. Chief Mechanic, Mike Dallew was happy to get a win on his first visit to a dirt track with Legends Cars. The win was especially sweet for him, as most of his racing experience has been with dirt track racing. The momentum seems to be picking up for Dana Moore as she nears the end of her rookie season in circle track racing with the Legends Car Series.
She will try to keep that momentum rolling next Saturday night when Moore returns to Irwindale Speedway. Two weeks ago Moore finished 3rd overall and first in her class while also claiming the pole for the Irwindale race.
