The Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge Heads To I-70 Speedway For The World Cup 150
Salem, IN (September 28, 2005) -- With the postponement of the CRA Super Series event at Rockford Speedway last weekend, the next stop for the Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge will be this Saturday at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri, in the World Cup 150. Scott Hantz still has a 23 point lead going into the fourth round of the Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge, an award program based upon five selected CRA Super Series points events in the five states the series will have points events in 2005.
As was the case with Rockford last weekend, Hantz is not entered for this Saturday's event either, his car owner Dick Poe has decided to have the team compete in the Main Event Outlaw Late Model show at Columbus Motor Speedway. This leaves the door wide open for any of the next four drivers in the standing with only one event left with the Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge after the I-70 Speedway event, which will be the rescheduled Rockford Speedway event on Saturday, October 29th in Rockford, Illinois.
The Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge will pay the driver who gets the most series points in the five events a $500 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires. The second place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will receive a $300 bonus. The third place driver in the Scott Performance Wire Tri-State Challenge will receive a $200 bonus. Scott Performance Wire will also award the 2005 CRA Super Series Champion with a set of Scott Performance Wires and an additional set of Scott Performance Wires that will be given away by random draw of the top fifteen teams in final series points at the 2005 series awards banquet.
Currently setting in second in the Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge is veteran CRA Super Series competitor JR Roahrig with 265 points he earned at the past three events involved with the Challenge including the May 22 event at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana, the May 29th event at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio, and the July 31st event at Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Roahrig was 20th at Winchester Speedway, 4th at Toledo Speedway and 2nd at Kalamazoo Speedway along with being the events Bicycle Clay Poker Chips -- Menards Fast Qualifier.
Chris Gabehart is currently in third with 254 points which includes his first ever series victory in the May 22nd Winchester Speedway event. Eddie Hoffman is currently in fourth just one point behind Gabehart while 16 year old part-time series competitor Landon Cassill is in fifth just one point behind Hoffman. All the four drivers currently in second through fifth are planning on competing in both events left with the Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge.
