Salem, IN (May 18, 2003) -- The Sunoco Super Series first ever visit to the historic Mt. Lawn Speedway this coming Memorial Day weekend could be a very good paying event for several Sunoco Super Series drivers with the amount of bonus money that has been posted for that event. The Sunoco Super Series will be a part of the inaugural Mike Johnson's Car Connection Used Car Center Memorial Weekend Race Festival on Sunday, May 25th and Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th at Mt. Lawn Speedway, located in New Castle, Indiana.

On Sunday, after practice and qualifying for Monday's Sunoco Super Series 150 lap feature event presented by WMDH 102.5, drivers will have the opportunity to race in the Courier Times Sunoco Shoot-Out, a 25 lap non-points race that will pay the winner $1,000, second place $500, third place $300, fourth place $200, and all other starters will receive $100. There will be a $500 bonus to a randomly draw team that completed at least half the laps of the Courier Times Sunoco Shoot-Out.

The bonuses keep on coming with Memorial Day's Sunoco Super Series 150-lap feature event Presented by WMDH 102.5. There is a $1,000 bonus if the same driver can win both the Courier Times Sunoco Shoot-Out and the 150-lap feature Presented by WMDH 102.5. There will be a $1,000 bonus to the highest finishing driver in the Memorial Day event that has never raced at Mt. Lawn Speedway, and has fewer than ten Sunoco Super Series starts, and a $500 bonus to the second highest finishing driver in that category. The highest finishing driver in the top twenty five in 2003 Sunoco Super Series points will receive a $1,000 bonus with the second highest finishing driver in the top twenty five in 2003 Sunoco Super Series points receiving a $500 bonus.

The above bonuses are in addition to the bonuses that are available at every Sunoco Super Series event in 2003 including the Spray Power Clean Sweep Award, which will pay out a $300 bonus to a driver if they are the Yockey Motorsports Marketing Fast Qualifier and the winner of the Memorial Day event. The Goodyear Performance Awards will pay out a $150 bonus to the driver advancing the most positions in the first through fifth finishers, and a $150 bonus to the driver advancing the most positions in the sixth through tenth place finishers.

The Yockey Motorsports Marketing Fast Qualifier will receive a $100 bonus. The ISKY Cams / Lane Automotive Hard Charger will receive a $100 bonus. The race winner on Memorial Day will receive a $100 bonus from Holley Performance Products. The Kingen Interstate Express Halfway Leader bonus will pay $100 to the driver-leading lap 75 on Memorial Day. One unlucky driver will be awarded the EMF Wiring Systems Hard Luck Award bonus of $100. The highest finishing Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie will receive a $100 bonus, with the second highest finishing Hubler Group / Blake Carburetion Rookie receiving a $50 bonus. There will also be $600 in bonuses paid out with the Sunoco Performance Plan.

All together there will be over $8,000 in bonuses on the line on Memorial Day weekend for the Sunoco Super Series in addition to the $17,300 in purse money for the 150-lap Memorial Day event Presented by WMDH 102.5. For event information and times go to www.sunocosuperseries.com.
