Harold Fair Jr. to drive Muller Motorsports #94 Sunoco car at Toledo Speedway
Salem, IN (July 17, 2003) -- Muller Motorsports owner Ken Muller announced today that veteran late model driver Harold Fair Jr. will drive the #94 Sunoco sponsored car in this Sundays Sunoco Super Series event at Toledo Speedway. Todd Oliver, the driver of the Muller Motorsports #94 Sunoco sponsored car this season, will sit out Sunday's event because of a prior work commitment. Oliver is the Marketing Director for the RCA Tennis Championships, which start this weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana.
"We knew we were going to have this scheduling conflict at the beginning of the season," remarked Muller. "Harold Fair Jr.'s name came up several times from different people when we were discussing a possible replacement driver at Toledo Speedway this weekend. I contacted Harold to see if he had an interest in driving for us Sunday, and he said he was ready to race for us at Toledo. Harold has had a lot of success racing at Toledo Speedway, hopefully he can give Sunoco a great finish this Sunday!"
Harold Fair Jr. has competed part-time with the Sunoco Super Series in past seasons. Fair Jr. does have one Sunoco Super Series victory, which he got in 2000 at Toledo Speedway. Fair Jr. beat an impressive list of former Sunoco Super Series drivers in that event who have moved up to other racing series including David Stremme, Chad Blount, Brian Ross, Matt Hagans, Shelby Howard, and Peter Cozzolino, along with current Sunoco Super Series veteran drivers Junior Hanley, Scott Hantz, Jeff Lane, and Kenny Tweedy. Fair Jr. has also raced with the ASA Racing Series and won championship with the Iceman Series.
Last season Fair Jr. had two top ten finishes in the two Sunoco Super Series events at Toledo Speedway finishing 10th in the May race and 6th in the August race. Fair had not planned on racing with the Sunoco Super Series this season, instead he is concentrating his efforts on racing at Toledo Speedway were he is currently leading the points in the Outlaw Late Model division at Toledo Speedway with four victories.
