Salem, Ind. (September 25, 2002) -- 1998 Sunoco Super Series Champion Brian Rievley will return to series at Winchester Speedway in the Car Brite 200 Presented By LA West Luxury Vehicles. Rievley, who finished in the top three in driver standings from 1997 through 1999, will drive a number one Chevrolet sponsored by Car Brite, Stoops Automotive Group and Ray Yockey Motorsports in his return at Winchester Speedway on Saturday, October 5.
"I'm hoping we can have a decent run in my return to the Sunoco Super Series," said 1998 Champion Brian Rievley. "The series has some pretty tough competition, so it's going to be difficult coming in after missing a few years and running up front. I missed a lot of the friendships that I developed in the Sunoco Series, so I'm very excited about returning to the series."
Rievley of Alexandria, Ind., plans to attend the test of Joel Kauffman and LA West Motorsports at Winchester Speedway. The former Anderson Speedway Track Champion and All Pro Series event winner hopes to gather some information on the Goodyear Tires.
"I want to learn about these tires so we're prepared for the Car Brite 200. I don't think we'll be able to test, so this will give me a good opportunity to see how long the tires will last," added Rievley.
Rievley produced his best season in the Sunoco Super Series in 1998, winning the series championship. He scored 12 top-five finishes in 15 events, which showed amazing consistency. In his career, Rievley has two victories, three poles, 26 top fives and 31 top-10 finishes.
