Salem, IN (June 9, 2003) -- Mt. Morris, Michigan's Johnny Belott will make his Sunoco Super Series debut in the Berlin/Sunoco Super Series 150 Presented By Georgetown Construction this Saturday night at Berlin Raceway. That race will also be his first ever in a Template Late Model after racing this year and the last two years in an Outlaw Late Model at Auto City Speedway and at Toledo Speedway. Belott is still the track record holder at Auto City Speedway were he also recorded several feature wins. Last season Belott scored four wins in the very competitive late model division at Toledo Speedway.
"We liked what we saw of the Sunoco Super Series last year at Toledo Speedway," remarked Belott. "We are planning on racing five times with the Sunoco Super Series this season beginning at Berlin Raceway. We will also race at Winchester Speedway on June 21st, Toledo Speedway on July 20th, Indianapolis Raceway Park on August 16th and at the season ending event at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville on October 18th.
The 27-year-old Belott turned his first laps ever at Berlin Raceway this past weekend in his Outlaw Late Model.
"Berlin is a very tricky race track," commented Belott. "We really struggled on Saturday, but we will run there again on Tuesday in the Meijer / Tony's Pizza 100 Outlaw Late Model race to try and get in as many laps in as possible before Saturday."
Neil May turns the wrenches on Belott's number 0 Port City Chassis Chevrolet. Belott has sponsorship help from ABC Auto Auction, Al Bourdeau Insurance, TRW Towing and Billy's Roadhouse.
