CRA SUPER SERIES READY TO RACE AT ANGOLA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Salem, IN (June 27, 2007) -- The CRA Super Series is ready to race in this Saturday's Hargus Mullins Memorial 125 Presented By EMF Corp and Centennial Wireless at Angola Motor Speedway, especially after last weekends event at Illiana Motor Speedway was postponed because of weather. The forecast for Saturday in Angola is for beautiful sunny skies, a high of only 79 degrees with no chance of rain, a perfect forecast for racing.
Saturday's event will be the 12th CRA Super Series event at the highly competitive 3/8-mile high-banked oval. This is the first season the track has been promoted by Craig Everidge, a local racer and owner of Everidge Auto in Angola, Indiana. Everidge has leased the facility for the 2007 season from long time track owner Dick Poe. Everidge has created a lot of excitement at Angola Motor Speedway with some very competitive racing in both his local divisions and several special events he has had, along with some great promotions each week to get the fans out to enjoy each Saturday nights racing action.
Last season's CRA Super Series event at Angola Motor Speedway was a break through race for veteran series competitor Eddie Van Meter. After 109 series starts, several second place finishes, and leading more than 500 laps in his career, Eddie Van Meter won his first series points event by leading the last114 laps. Van Meter passed early leader Danny Jackson on lap 11 to get the lead, and cruised to the win. Jack Landis finished second, Jeff Lane third, Scott Hantz came from the back after spinning early in the race to finish fourth and JR Roahrig finished fifth. Van Meter is only competing in selected series events this season, he is competing in the late model division at the Speedrome in Indianapolis, were teams running for the points championship must compete on the oval and the figure 8. Last week Van Meter won the 7th annual Jake Cohen Memorial 150 lap event, his biggest win ever at the Speedrome.
2000 and 2006 CRA Super Series Champion Scott Hantz has the most series victories at Angola Motor Speedway with three and will be looking to add another victory to that total on Saturday. The Angola, Indiana native drives for owner Dick Poe, who also owns EMF Corp, who will also be a Presenting Sponsor of this seasons Hargus Mullins Memorial 125. Late Model veteran Bobby Blount is second in series victories at Angola with two. The list of single winners includes some other very famous late model racers including Canadian Junior Hanley, Tim Felver, Kenny Tweedy, JR Roahrig, Jeff Lane and Eddie Van Meter.
Series point's leader Chris Gabehart leads a strong group of CRA Super Series regulars entered for Saturday's race. Gabehart is coming off his second win of the season in the series last event at Anderson Speedway on June 9. Gabehart has not finished out of the top five in any of the series first six events so far this season. That consistency along with his two wins has given Gabehart a 66-point lead over Scott Hantz, who has one victory so far this season at the Baer Field Speedway event on May 20th. Hantz will be the fan favorite Saturday night as he was at the Baer Field Speedway event.
Other top CRA Super Series drivers entered include past series winners at Angola Motor Speedway Jeff Lane, JR Roahrig and Kenny Tweedy along with series regulars Jason Shively, Rick Turner, Jack Smith, Terry Fisher Jr., and A.J. Ganino.

Van Doorn is currently leading the Team Full Throttle Driver Development Services Rookie Of The Year Standings and has been the RV Performance Rookie Of The Race Award winner in five straight events including his second place finish at Columbus Motor Speedway on June 2, his best ever finish with the series. The other Rookie Of The Year candidates that are entered includes Sean Matthuis, Ray Mooi, Nick Baran and Donald Karr Jr.
