Tell City Ford to provide pace car for Sunoco Super Series.

Salem, IN (April 24, 2002) - Tell City Ford will be the Official Pace Car provider of the Sunoco Super Series for the 2002 race season. The beautiful yellow Mustang GT convertible made its debut this past Saturday night at the series season opener at Anderson Speedway.

The Tell City Ford Pace Car will pace the field for each Sunoco Super Series feature event on the series nineteen-event race schedule in 2002. The Tell City Ford Pace Car features graphics provided by Signature Design, the Official Graphics provider of the Sunoco Super Series.

Tell City Ford is located in Tell City, Indiana, a quiet little Southern Indiana town on the Ohio River about an hour west of Louisville, Kentucky. Tell City Ford is owned and operated by Sunoco Super Series Rookie Candidate Gene Davis. Davis, the 35 year old driver of the Tell City Ford Taurus, is a true rookie to auto racing. Saturday night was the first time he has ever competed in a racecar.

"Last Monday we went and tested at Salem Speedway, it was my first experience driving a racecar at a race track," commented Davis. "We put a new body on the car after the test on Monday, and then showed up here for the series opener." "I realize that the Sunoco Super Series is a very tough place to start racing, but I have some good people helping me, and I think I can be competitive very soon." "We didn't make the feature, but I got to compete in my first ever race, and we finished the last chance race in one piece!"

Davis plans to run the entire season with the Sunoco Super Series, and will make selected starts with the Salem Speedway Late Models.
