Cedar Falls, IA - Corey Dripps Racing is gearing up for what they feel is the "start of a new season." Over the next nineteen days, the AFCO Racing number "31" modified is scheduled to compete in twelve nights of racing.
Team owner and manager Rick Dripps says the team has a lot to look forward to. Things are coming together, and the CDR has more room for improvement.
"The team has been qualifying better, and we've been finishing in the top ten," said Rick Dripps. "We're still not a top 5 car each week, but we're getting there," Dripps added. "The competition is just so good."
CDR has finally seen the hard work pay some dividends. The team has moved up into twelfth position in the United States Modified Touring Series point standings. The AFCO Racing number 31 has even visited victory after a great run through heavy track by driver Corey Dripps at the "Indee Open" August 6th at Independence Motor Speedway in Independence, IA. Most recently, Corey scored a top 5 during the USMTS stop at Fox Ridge Speedway in Arcadia, WI
That momentum will help as the team hits the road racing twelve nights over the next nineteen days. The USMTS is running an aggressive eight-race swing through Minnesota and Iowa. Then CDR will head to Boone, IA for the IMCA Super Nationals.
"We have a lot of work to do in order to have two cars racing," stated Rick.
