(Cedar Falls, IA) - With a break in the United States Modified Touring Series, the month of July will have Corey Dripps Racing running at home most of July.

This Wednesday, July 9th, CDR will be at the Indee Open special at eh Independence Motor Speedway featuring Kenny Schrader racing in the Late Model class. The team is very excited to turn some laps at the 3/8's mile oval.

"We haven't been there in at least five years," Corey said. "We have a lot of fans there, so it will be great to see them again."

CDR will continue to test different set-ups with the car on Friday at Saturday nights. The next three weekends the AFCO Racing number 31 modified will race at Cresco Speedway (Friday) in Cresco, IA and Echo Valley Speedway (Saturday) in West Union, IA.

"I missed the set-up again," explained Rick Dripps when talking about last Saturday night's race at Echo Valley Speedway. "The car was 'Bad Fast' in the heat race, and I dialed us out trying to get a little more (out of it)." Rick went on to say that the most important thing is that the team is really learning the car and what it wants. "He managed to work the car to a fourth (place finish) that night."

Also this month, CDR will head to the Gopher 50 in Owantonna, MN before returning to the USMTS schedule when they start back up at the end of July. If you are not able to join us for the Gopher 50, RaceRPM.com will also have live audio updates from the track that night.

On the Fourth of July, The team was forced to qualify for the USMTS stop at Cresco Speedway through a B-Main. Starting deep in a field of some of the best, modified drivers in the country, things didn't look good for a Top 10 finish, but a late charge in the closing laps by Corey secured an eighth place finish. Corey found a line around the track that everyone else was looking for and passed five cars in the last four laps.

Corey Dripps Racing is made possible to the great people at AFCO Racing, Real Racing Wheels, R.A. Benson Motorsports, Reinbeck Auto, Axel Exchange, K & H Heating, RaceRPM.com, Specialty Motorsports, Grass Works, Pollution Control Systems and the great race fans across the Midwest.
