SUSSEX, Wis. - Mark Dismore is ready for a nine-week run in the ASA ACDelco Series that takes him to several tracks he has never seen before. The action starts this weekend at the Chicago Motor Speedway in Cicero, Ill. for the USAMeats.com 200.
"I'm looking forward to the race," Dismore said. "We need to finish and get back into the points chase. I want to qualify, run and finish well." Dismore currently sits 17th in the overall points standings and fourth in the Pat Schauer Memorial Rookie of the Year points chase.
Dismore, a little distressed after testing at the new Chicago facility, has been assured he will be fine heading into the ninth race on the 2000 schedule. "When we tested, I didn't have a good handle on the track, but Howie (Lettow, crew chief) has made some adjustments and we should have a better set-up on the Monster.com/WorldBestBuy.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo when we go this weekend," Dismore said.
"The track is pretty fun, though I wasn't thrilled with my run," Dismore explains. "It's flat and quick. You're hard on the brakes. You have to drive the car in deep and roll out of the corners. There isn't any banking to help you. You get nervous going through the tight corners, but you just have to drive it." Dismore plans to do just that with his No. 44 Herzog Motorsports entry.
