Bad luck strikes Team ASI Again.

Winchester, IN.(October 07, 2002) -The #04 ASILIMITED Monte Carlo was up front of the competition again and was within 2 cars of the leader at lap 318. Then flying debris from a race incident between the leaders punctured the radiator as well as a podium finish for Team ASI. This accident delegated a winning effort to 18th position.

"I was skeptical of this place, being my first visit." Said team owner Ken Smith "My expectations were low at the start, all I wanted to do was survive, but then we got close to winning and the expectations rose and quickly were dashed"

Saturday qualifying was not up to the teams expectations. The team was not satisfied with their 11th starting position and spent Sunday morning thrashing on the car to get a better set-up for the race.

Butch Miller drove an exceptional race avoiding the constant carnage. " My goal was to stay out of trouble and race the last 50-75 laps." Said Miller "The #04 ASILIMITED Monte Carlo was running great and the pit stops were keeping us where we needed to be. I really thought we were going to win this thing." Butch added some humor after the race" The race the team was after me all year about my crummy race shoes, so I threw them in the trash at this place for good luck"

The #04 ASILIMITED Monte Carlo was never further back than 8th place. "The team really worked hard to keep us up front." Deon Deneau adds "The car was really coming in and we were ready to take this race.".

Butch Miller and the #04 ASILIMITED Monte Carlo finished in 15th position in Owners Points in just 13 starts out of the 20 races fielded by ASA. Current statistics for 13 races this year are 4 poles, 3 wins, 4 top 5s and 3 top 10's.

The team will now begin to prepare for the 2003 season and a run at the National Championship. Stay tuned to our website for future announcements.
