Butch Miller claims 4th pole and finish 2nd at Toledo.

Toledo, OH.. (August 11, 2002)-- Veteran Butch Miller of Coopersville (MI) won his fourth pole of 2002 and the 47th of his ASA career moving him to within two of the all-time leader Bob Senneker. This weekend marks only his seventh start this season in the Indianapolis-based team and the # 04 ASILIMITED Monte Carlo entry.

The #04 ASILIMITED Monte Carlo finished a strong second place and was in contention from the onset. Due to the 14 yellow flags throughout the race, no significant long runs could be achieved. Throughout the Saturday practice, the car would get faster on continous long runs. The #04 made (1) pit stop and was never further from the front than 5th place. "I really think we could have been in contention for the win had we gotten some long runs going" said crew chief Deon Deneau.

"The car was perfect today. Maybe the best it has been all year. We have no excuses, the # 83 car was just better today" says Butch Miller. "We will work a little harder and get them in Memphis"

Team owner Ken smith adds" Another awesome finish for this young team. "3 wins and 2 podium finishes in 7 races, I am so proud of what we have accomplished with this Team in a short period of time. Consistency is my continued goal for the balance of the year."

Butch Miller and the #04 ASILIMITED Monte Carlo has moved within 7 points of 17th position in the Owner Standings in just 7 starts out of the 14 races fielded by ASA. Current statistics for 7 races this year are 4 poles, 3 wins, 3 top 5s and 1 top 10.

The 2002 ASA Racing Series is next in action on Sunday, August 25 at the Memphis Motorsports Park in Millington (TN) for the Jani-King 200 presented by Flash Market.. The race will take the green flag just after 2 p.m. (Central) and will be telecast live on TNN The National Network.
