Pendleton, Ind. (August 29, 2003) -- Three-time American Speed Association Champion Butch Miller and SS Racing have agreed on a deal that will keep Miller in the No. 52 Timber Wolf car through the 2004 season.

"This is a great opportunity for me," said Miller, a native of Coopersville, Mich. "SS Racing is a quality organization and Ken Smith is a great owner. He gives this team everything that it takes to be competitive on the track and understands what we need to do to get it done. It comes down to me getting it done on the track. I couldn't see myself with any other team in any other series. This is a perfect fit for me."

"I am really excited to have this deal done with Butch this early" said team owner Ken Smith. Having this out of the way will allow Butch and the #52 Timber Wolf team to concentrate on winning the 2003 ASA National Championship"

Since Miller joined the SS Racing team part way into the 2002 season, Miller has collected six wins and seven poles. In just 25 races with the Indianapolis-based SS Racing team, Miller has finished in the top-five 15 times and in the top-10 an amazing 20 times. Miller is currently second in the 2003 ASA National Championship point standings.

Earlier this season, Butch Miller recorded the 50th pole of his ASA career, becoming the all-time leader in that category, surpassing fellow Michigan native Bob Senneker. Miller's 49 career wins positions him behind only Senneker and Michigan's Mike Eddy on the career list.
