FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brown & Sharpe Joins LaFavre Racing Teams In ASA.

Lakeville, Minnesota -- The Brown & Sharpe Company, the worlds leading producer of metrology equipment, will join LaFavre Racing Teams as their primary sponsor for the 1996 ASA Season. David Genest, Director of Marketing and Communications for Brown & Sharpe, made the announcement here today at the race teams new facility. The facility will be used by Brown & Sharpe as a demonstration area for new models of their Coordinate Measuring Machines(CMM). These systems are precision measuring instruments that are used for verification of measurements of tooling for industry as well as engine components.

Genest stated that having instruments available for demonstration to potential customers in "real world" situations is extremely valuable to his organization. Genest is also very excited about the exposure that his company will gain from an association with LaFavre Racing Teams and ASA.

Scott LaFavre, President of the racing organization stated that his team is extremely happy to have a primary sponsor such as Brown & Sharpe. We have a unique opportunity to assist our sponsor in the marketing of their excellent products and to make use of the products to improve our race cars and engines.

LaFavre also announced that Kevin Cywinski, the 1995 ARTGO Champion has been signed to drive for the team in 1996. We are excited about having the talents of Kevin on our team. He is a very capable young driver who deserves to move up to the extremely competitive ASA circuit. Kevin is 30 years old and has been racing for 16 years on the short tracks of the midwest.

Mike Chaffee, Crew Chief for LaFavre, is a fourteen year veteran of racing. Mike has worked extensively in ASA and is well known for producing fast and reliable race cars. Chaffee stated that the team is looking forward to the February 11th opening ASA race in Lakeland,FL which will be televised live on TNN. The teams ASA schedule calls for running the entire twenty race ASA schedule of televised races. TNN has contracted to televise fifteen of the races with the remaining five races to be divided between ESPN and PRIME.
