BLOOMINGTON, IN (May 9, 2003) - Late model fans have waited for months for the opportunity to see the dirt late models compete on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway. Mike Miles and his staff worked all week preparing the track for the UMP dirt late models. Everyone was ready to go racing except the weatherman. It had been raining off and on for days; and, though rain was predicted to continue, Mike Miles stayed focused on getting the track ready and hoping for the best. Unfortunately, what Mike got was not the best. Instead, he got more rain.

If there was any way to get this show in, Mike was committed to getting this show show in if there was any possible way to do it. He kept waiting for the sun to come out to help him dry the track; but it didn't come out. Finally, it became apparent that there was no way to get the race in; and Mike made the painful decision to cancel it. We'll try again next season.
