... . Former multi-time track champion looking for big win this weekend in Knoxville.

(Knoxville, TN-- July 17, 2002) Billy Ogle, Jr. is coming home this Friday night-- coming home that is off of the road to a racetrack that helped him make his mark as a champion in dirt late model racing. Ogle, who has spent this season traveling across the nation on the United Dirt Track Racing Association (UDTRA) national touring series will be in action for Friday night's"Southeastern Dodge Dealers Duel" at Atomic Motor Speedway in Knoxville, TN. Ogle has captured a handful of track titles over the years at the lightning fast high-banked speedway and is considered a favorite to take the win in Friday night's 50 lapper and the $10,000 winner's share of the purse.

Ogle is a leading contender in the season-long battle for the Lucas Oil sponsored"Rookie of the Year" award on the UDTRA tour campaigning the Calhouns Restaurants / Die Cast Digest / UPS sponsored Chevrolet Monte Carlo for Bill Reed Racing at dirt ovals across America. In fact, Ogle has moved into 12th place in the overall national championship standings on the top-rated dirt racing circuit as the 40-plus racing season on the UDTRA sanctioned has progressed.

Ogle is looking forward to this weekend's triple-header which begins with Friday's stop at Atomic before moving on to a Saturday night date at Atlanta, GA's Dixie Speedway and a Sunday evening show in Rome, GA. Ogle is a former UDTRA pole winner at Rome Speedway and although he is technically a rookie contender on the circuit the Knoxville, TN native has one career UDTRA win, that coming in 1997 at Tazewell (TN) Speedway. The return home to a more familiar surface should bode well for Ogle's efforts on the high-profile dirt late model circuit. In addition to his past championships at Atomic Motor Speedway, Billy Ogle is also a former multi-time track champion at Crossville (TN) Speedway and Tazewell (TN) Speedway.
