KILBY AND KELLEY LEAD ARA POINTS

PENDERGRASS, GA - An incredibly tight points race between Scott Kilby of Statesville, NC, and Keith Bumgarner of Conover, NC, resumes when the American Racing Association (ARA) Kool Seal Challenge Series visits Tri-County Speedway on Friday, Aug. 10th for the August Blast 125.

Bumgarner, 22, won the last event in his #95 County Chair Ford on July 21st at Hickory Motor Speedway, and now trails Kilby by only one point, 418-417. Baumgarner has five victories this season. Kilby drives the #30 A&H Windows Chevrolet.

Westley Huffman of Blytheville, SC (#5 Table Rock Spring Water Chevrolet) is third in the Kool Seal Challenge standings with 369 points and Greg Marlowe of Troutman, NC (#07 Southern Pride Chevy) is fourth with 342. Keith Stiltner of Grundy, VA (#22 Race Mining Chevy) rounds out the top five with 292 points and 14-year-old sensation Stephen Leicht of Asheville, NC (#99 Action Racing Collectibles Ford) is sixth with 254 points.

Leicht also ranks third in the ARA Southern Thunder Late Model series standings with 194 points, just seven behind Michael Lance and 19 behind front-running Paul Kelley of Snellville, GA (#24 Roy Kelley Ford).

Leicht won the most recent Southern Thunder race July 28th at Montgomery, with Kelley second and Lance third. Mickey Cain of Gainesville, GA., was fourth at Montgomery in his #37 Winkler Heating & Air Ford, but won the last Southern Thunder event at Peach State on July 7th. Cain ranks 11th with 103 points, but is only five points behind 10th-place Rodney Landrum of Jonesboro, GA (#98 R.S. Trucking Chevy).

The next event for the ARA Kool Seal Challenge Series is the August Blast 125 at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, NC, on Friday night, August 10. The next race for ARA Southern Thunder late model series is the Southern Thunder 125 on Sunday, Aug. 12th at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, GA.
