Allison Legacy to race at Martinsville

Martinsville, VA---The Intermedia Allison Legacy Series will race in the Anderson Tractor-John Deere 30-lap race on Bud Pole day for the NAPA AutoCare 500 at Martinsville Speedway. The Anderson Tractor-John Deere race will follow the 3 p.m. NASCAR Winston Cup time trials on Friday, September 29. It will be fifth consecutive year the series has raced on Winston Cup pole day at Martinsville. Mike Smith of Akron, Ohio won the 1999 event. Allison Legacy cars are three-quarter scale replicas of Winston Cup cars. Legacy cars are powered by four-cylinder Mazda B2200 truck engines and the cars have standard Mazda five-speed transmissions. Qualifying for the Anderson Tractor-John Deere 30-lap race is 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 28 at Martinsville Speedway. Registration and inspection for the series is at 9 a.m. and practice will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on September 28. The NAPA AutoCare 500/Goody’s Body Pain 200 weekend kicks off with Bud Pole day and tickets, including the Legacy race, are $15 for adults and children under 12 are admitted free. The Goody’s Body Pain 200 NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour race starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 30. Tickets for adults are $30 and tickets for children ages 6-12 are $5.
