Chad McCumbee wins the Allison Legacy Series National Championship.

Eighteen year old Chad McCumbee wins the National Championship for the second time in two years. McCumbee from Supply, North Carolina drives the #20 Coastal Vinyl & Aluminum sponsored car and has been a regular in both the Carolina Series and National Touring Series. He drove only a few races in 2000 and made it his personal goal to win the Championship in 2001 and 2002.

He has won five National races at New Smyrna Speedway, Florida, Hardeeville Speedway, South Carolina, Coastal Plains Speedway, North Carolina and Anderson Speedway, South Carolina in 2002. He took the Pole Position at New Smyrna, Hardeeville, Coastal Plains, San Antonio Speedway in Texas, Ocala Speedway, Florida, Myrtle Beach Speedway, South Carolina, Anderson Speedway and Martinsville Speedway in Virginia.

McCumbee is a student at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and his goal is to move up in his racing career to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and beyond.
