Canadian racer Kyle Marcelli will drive for R. Ferri Motorsport RACING WITH FERRARI in this year’s Pirelli World Challenge, competing in the Sprint-X races.

Marcelli - from Barrie, Ontario - will share the driving duties of the team’s No. 61 Ferrari 488 GT3 with Spaniard Alex Riberas. A former top karting competitor and Canadian Formula Ford champion, Marcelli, aged 27, has competed in the Rolex Grand-Am, American Le Mans and WeatherTech SportsCar series since 2010.

The 2017 Pirelli World Challenge GT season consists of 19 rounds at 10 road courses across North America, including the stop at Canadian Tire Motosport Park, east of Toronto, on the Victoria Day weekend May 19-21.

The Sprint-X races are 60 minutes in length and feature mandatory driver and tire changes. Kyle Marcelli’s first race with the team will be at the Virginia International Raceway on April 28-30.

Created in 1991, R.Ferri Motorsport – led by Remo Ferri - is a professional Canadian racing team headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and races in partnership with the Remo Ferri Group of Automobiles including Ferrari of Ontario, Toronto and Alberta. R.Ferri Motorsport also provides technical, racing, and logistical support for Ferraris that take part in the North American Ferrari Challenge along with other exclusive customer track events.
