Wagga Avalon now it's Wayville

Following an early start from their overnight stay in Mildura on route to the second round of the World Series Sprintcar Championship the South Australian based arm of Craft Disbury Racing have now completed a u-turn and heading to Wayville Showgrounds to compete this evening.

Bad weather that came across much of the Eastern states put paid to the Wagga venue for tonight. After receiving notification of the cancellation the team planned to head towards Avalon however, this meeting was also looking doubtful at the time of release. From here the team expressed it to Wayville Showgrounds and will be competing at the Clean Team Speedway International event tonight.

"I think next week we will sleep in until at least 10 o'clock cause it seems to be every day I get up early everything gets messed up," smiled Johnson on return route to Adelaide.

The Louisiana native however did get to pass through three states, see several kangaroos (both alive and dead) and even an albino kangaroo. "At least I can say that I've seen a kangaroo but I bet they weren't awake when the sun come up like us," Johnson comments.

Brad Heywood and the Craft Brothers part of the team hadn't left their Sydney base before the rain put paid to the event "It's that cold and wet here I don't think we need our Scott's Refrigerated transporter today," said Peter Craft.

With the Wagga event postponed Heywood will be cheering on Australia in the Rugby World Cup Final in Sydney with several corporate partners of the team, including Matthew Haynes of Mattrans and Paul Knott of PK Automotive.

Full details on Johnson's debut at the historic South Australian venue will be posted later this evening.
