As the 2001/02 season draws to a close around the country, Qld racefans are still yet to witness what should be one of the most hotly contested Qld Sprintcar Titles to be run in recent years. It is well documented that Queensland's superb weather is the envy of most Australians and it is this State's warm weather that also allows speedway racing to continue well into the autumn months while tracks to the south have already finished and are looking forward to spring time once more. So what are sprintcar racers from down south meant to do? Head to Qld for some more racing of course!
Take a look at some of the nominations to date. Current Australian Champion, World Series Champion, South Australian and Victorian Champion Max Dumsney, four-time Australian and multiple State Champion Garry Brazier, defending Qld Champion and former Australian Speedcar Champion Robbie Farr as well as Adrian Maher and Brett Loadsman, all from NSW. Add to this list a number of Qld standouts - Stephen Bell, Darren Jensen, Tony Bridge, reigning Qld Sprintcar Summer ShootOut Champion Darrell Hodges and Andrew Scheuerle along with a host of local stars including Ricky Mitchell, Peter Thorley, Brock Dean, Phil Foster and the father-son team of Ross and Adam Tulloch and you have the makings for some great sprintcar racing at Brisbane International Speedway on April 26/27.
Tickets for the event and reserved seating are now available through the Speedway's office on (07) 3277 7745 or contact the Speedway via the web at www.brisbanespeedway.com.au
