Lewis Set To Fly Over Easter

Ian Lewis Racing is full of confidence after plenty of solid results over the course of the past couple of months as they prepare to tackle the Easter Sprintcar Trail this coming weekend.

A difficult and trying period during World Series Sprintcars as the team worked around understanding their brand new J&J chassis, is now beginning to consistently join the front of the fray.

"It is fair to say we had a difficult start to the season as we debuted a new chassis but since the Australian Sprintcar Title we have turned the season around with some good results," explained 'The Fly'.

Just over a week ago, Lewis drove the Komatsu Used Equipment, Adtrans, Camden Neon Signs, J&J Auto Racing car to podium place at Avalon Raceway, which included a hard fought battle with Garry Brazier after starting from the third row.

"Our last race at Avalon was brilliant, ultimately I would have liked to have finished higher but a podium against some of the drivers we were up against makes it almost perfect.

One key advantage for Ian Lewis Racing this weekend is the amount of track time the car has clocked up at two of the rounds of the Easter Sprintcar Trail, namely Avalon Raceway and Premier Speedway.

Lewis already has achieved two podium finishes this season, both at Avalon Raceway.

'The Fly', hardly new to the Easter Sprintcar Trail knows exactly what it takes to run up front and finish the season off with a good result, when in the 2002/2003 season, Lewis finished the weekend a respectable third overall.

"If we can run consistently like we have the past few races in and around the top five, the weekend result should take care of itself and make for a great Sunday night in the Premier Speedway pits."

The team will be racing on March 25, 26 & 27 at Avalon Raceway, Borderline Raceway and Premier Speedway respectively.

Ian Lewis Racing is sponsored by Komatsu Used Equipment, Adtrans Truck Centre, Camden Neon Signs, J&J Auto Racing, Cascade, The Metric Men, Radum and Transport Equipment Hire.
