MECHANICSBURG PA-- Two special events for sprint cars are coming up during the next two weeks at Williams Grove Speedway beginning on Friday, August 21 with the Jack Gunn Memorial Twin 20's.

Gunn was the promoter at Williams Grove from 1968 until his death in 1980. During that time sprint car racing at the Grove gained national prominence under his leadership. It was Jack Gunn who instituted the Twin 20s format and it has since become one of the most popular nights on the schedule.

The Grove's handicapping system will be used to determine starting positions for the first 20-lap feature. The winner will then draw for inversion of the second feature.

Each 20-lap feature will pay $2500 to win.

Points for the Cindy Rowe Auto Glass championship will be awarded for each feature.

There will be no time trials and there will be no support division. Another "sprints only" program is scheduled for Friday night August 28, when the All Star Circuit of Champions will sanction the event.

The All Star 30-lap feature will pay $4000 to win.

This will be the only appearance by the All Stars at Williams Grove this year. The previously scheduled All Star show was rained out on May 1. Time trials will start at 7:30 for the August 28 All Star race.
