WESMAR Racing Engines powered Terry McCarl to his first World of Outlaws A Main win at Joplin, Missouri.

McCarl, driving the Big Game Hunting sponsored WESMAR powered entry owned by his wife Lori, set fast time, finished third in his qualifying heat race after starting sixth, and won the first dash to earn the pole position for the 30 lap feature that paid the Altoona, Iowa driver $10,000 for his first World of Outlaws full points victory.

"I can't say enough about WESMAR," said McCarl from victory lane. "This is the 11th night on this engine. Most of these Outlaw guys don't run their engines that long, but thanks to WESMAR for giving us some strong horsepower."

Ironically, McCarl was coming off perhaps his worst weekend of racing in the 2004 season before his World of Outlaws triumph. McCarl has flipped three nights in a row (twice at Knoxville's WoO events and during Huset's hot lap session) prior to winning at Joplin's WoO event. He did manage to win the regular weekly show at Huset's from 11th starting spot after tumbling during hot laps.

Other WESMAR powered winners last week include Shane Stewart scoring at Oklahoma City's Sprint Bandit event with the Chilcutt entry, Terry Gray sweeping with the USCS at Crossville, Tennessee, and Jaymie Passmore winning at Creek County in Oklahoma.
