WESMAR Powers Stewart to Victory Lane

FEBRUARY 4, 2004 - WESMAR Racing Engines propelled Shane Stewart to victory lane at East Bay Raceway Park January 29, 2004.

Stewart drove the Scott Chilcutt-owned WESMAR-powered mln Motorsports entry to a thrilling victory in the 25-lap 360 cubic inch Sprint Car feature, earning $1,500 for the win. Stewart topped 53 entries during the second night of the King of the 360 Nationals at East Bay.

"I owe this one to my crew, Rob and Cathy Hart, who have been with me for two years," said Stewart from victory lane. "I'm just sorry my car owner Scott Chilcutt, couldn't be here for this win."

Stewart saw Terry McCarl take his lead away on lap three before the Oklahoma pilot got his elbows up and regained the top spot with a high groove pass on lap 17.

"Once I settled down after Terry went by and I realized that I could stay with him, I knew I was going to be alright," said Stewart after the event.
