Wesmar Racing Engines Dominates East Bay Nationals
"Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good! This is the best track in Florida, but it was pretty tricky tonight. I tried to keep as smooth as possible. I need to thank Brodix heads, Weld Tech, and Wesmar Engines, they built me a great motor."
So said Iowa's Terry McCarl from East Bay Raceway victory lane after taking his second consecutive 410 cubic inch Sprint Car feature event at the Gibsonton, Florida oval with WESMAR Racing Engines horsepower.
McCarl dominated the 2004 East Bay Nationals, winning Thursday and Friday 25 lap feature events, and scoring third in Wednesday's preliminary feature after starting fifth.
McCarl's wins came from third and fifth starting spots with his WESMAR-powered Big Game Hunting, Bosma Poultry, Country Builders-sponsored entry, and saw McCarl sitting on top of the event's point standings after his three day performance.
Other drivers who relied on WESMAR Racing Engines at East Bay Raceway's Nationals included Thursday runner-up Shane Stewart in the mln Motorsports entry, and Sammy Swindell who wheeled the Beaver Drilling WESMAR-powered entry to a third place finish in Friday's event.
Saturday's finale was rained out and not rescheduled.
