Statler Rides Weld Wheels To 2004 King of California Title

Jason Statler clinched the 2004 Golden State Challenge "King of California" title with his Rios Construction-sponsored Weld Wheels-equipped entry. Staler officially clinched the title at Chico, California's Silver Dollar Speedway Saturday after his fourth place finish in his qualifying heat for the feature event.

33 year old San Jose, California's Statler, in his 16th year of Sprint Car racing, won at Silver Dollar Speedway and Placerville Speedway in 2004, and along with earning fifteen top five finishes was officially crowned King of California Saturday.

"I started using Weld Wheels almost ten years, after being introduced to them by Brent Kaeding (12-time King of California) at Kaeding Performance (408-371-3031)." said Statler. "Weld Racing manufactures strong and reliable wheels and components and we have not had a problem with anything; everyone at Weld is helpful and easy to get along with."

Statler, armed with the 2004 King of California crown, will now expand his horizons beyond the Golden State. Look for Statler to drive this weekend at Skagit Speedway's USAC-CRA wingless event July 30-31, and then compete in select events throughout the remainder of the 2004 season.
