The Virginia Sprint Series made its first visit to the historic Lincoln Speedway and Tim Hamlet was able to capture his first ever VSS win.

Hamlet showed the speed early on as he and John Johnson won their heat races in strong fashion. The feature was paced by John Johnson and John Wheaton. It was Johnson who got the good start and lead early, but was not alone at the front as Hamlet was on the way from the back.

Hamlet took the lead on lap four but was now in traffic and being joined by the top ten who were racing for every position and swaping spots every lap. Jason Shultz had caught Hamlet by lap thirteen and the two put on a clean but torrid battle for the top spot. The two where side by side for the last two laps but Hamlet held on for the win by a few feet.
