USCS will open "June Jam" at Malden Speedway on June One Malden, Missouri - The USCS "June Jam" as USCS President, Pete Walton has so appropriately titled it, will start at Malden Speedway on Friday night June 1st.
The June USCS series of 9 events will kickoff it's schedule at the 3/8 mile red clay oval located in the "Bootheel" of the "Show Me" state located near Malden. The main event pays $2000 to win with several bonuses available making it worth up to $2500 to win. The main event pays $250 to start.
USCS had it's first ever event at Malden Speedway and the track's first ever sprint car race last September. The contest saw 1999 USCS Dirt National Champion, Marshall Skinner of West Memphis, Arkansas, prevail in a 30 lap race-long battle over Fredricktown, Missouri hotshoe, Tim Montgomery and USCS 2000 National Champ, Kenny Adams.
Other notable early entries include 7 time National sprint car champion, Terry Gray of Bartlett, Tennessee, who has over 200 sprint car wins to his credit and Indy Racing League driver Jimmy Kite from Stockbridge, Georgia. Kite finished 3rd in the season opener at Concord Motorsport Park on April 21. USCS 2001 feature winner (at Huntsville Speedway), Jim Raptis from Marietta, Georgia is also entered as are a number of "Georgia Gang" members.
A number of the top Memphis, Tennessee area drivers are also expected, as the track is located only 2 hours North of Memphis, few miles West of I-55.
The USCS will have a full program of winged outlaw sprint car racing including, the 6 car - 6lap - Airflow Research (cylinder heads) "Power Dash" which pits the top six drivers from the previous event in a 6 lap duel for starting position points in a year end, 10 car-10 lap "Super Power Dash" worth up to $10,000 to win. The balance of the choked full sprint car program includes, heat races, a B main and 30 lap A main event. "This is an important early season tune-up event for the 2nd annual USCS North vs. South "Shootout" September 21st and 22nd" stated series founder, Walton.
A similar event for the Open Wheel Modifieds will be held at that time also. The September event will include a Friday night USCS "Missouri State Championship" event also.
