O'Reilly USCS Drivers Receive Two of The Three Nominations For Hall of Fame 360 Sprint Car Driver of the Year Award

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series drivers have received two of the three nominations for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 360 Sprint Car Driver of the Year Award. The winner of the award will be announced on Thursday night, December 9 during the North American Sprint Car Poll Awards Reception at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, IN.

The 2004 and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN and the 2004 O'Reilly USCS Sunbelt Tour Champion Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL have been nominated by the NSCHoF pollsters. The third nominee is Gary Wright of Hooks, TX.

Gray and Adams both showed their versatility during 2004 O'Reilly USCS competition, winning races on both dirt and asphalt. The O'Reilly USCS is the only winged outlaw sprint car series in the country that competes on both surfaces.

Gray picked up eight O'Reilly USCS wins in 2004, with six on dirt and two on asphalt while enroute to his fourth straight O'Reilly USCS National title. In addition to winning the National Championship, the "Bartlett Bullet" also won the O'Reilly USCS Outlaw Thunder Dirt Tour and the Asphalt Thunder Championships.

Gray completed the most laps of 2004 O'Reilly USCS competition with 1,096 out of a possible 1,135. Gray also won his third O'Reilly USCS Air Flow Research Super Dash at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL in October.

Adams was the winningest driver in O'Reilly USCS competition during 2004 with 16 wins, 10 on dirt, and six on asphalt. The "Malabar Missile" also turned in 11 fast time awards, and led the most laps in 2004 O'Reilly USCS competition, pacing the field for 430 laps. Adams won the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 360 Sprint Car Driver of the Year Award in 2000.

Both Gray and Adams also won 360 Sprint Car events outside of the O'Reilly USCS sanction in 2004.

There are also two other awards O'Reilly USCS personnel have been nominated for at the North American Sprint Car Poll Awards Reception.

O'Reilly USCS Founder and President Pete Walton has been nominated for the 360 Sprint Car Promoter of the Year Award, and Adams' Goodson Farms two-car team of himself and his 19-year-old stepson and crew chief Bryn Gohn have been nominated for the 360 Sprint Car Team of the Year.
