BLUE RIDGE, GA - Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL came from the fourth starting position to take the lead on lap four and cruised to his 11th United Sprint Car Series win of the season Friday night before a standing-room-only crowd at Sugar Creek Raceway driving the Goodson Farms Shaw/Ott.

The "Malabar Missile" raced side-by-side with Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN after a restart, to take the lead. The defending and three-time USCS National Champion Gray had to settle for second in the Goodson Farms/Wendy's Maxim/Wesmar. Gray still leads the USCS National, Outlaw Thunder Dirt Tour, and Sunbelt Tour point standings.

Danny "The Hammer" Martin of Sarasota, FL put on a show running the high side to blast from the seventh starting and finish third driving the Martin Structures, Inc. Schnee/ZRE. Jim Raptis of Marietta, GA started 14th and came home fourth in the ERI Maxim/ERI. Raptis and crew chief Andy Stapp made repairs after a heat race mechanical problem to just make the main event.

Ryan Myers of Eaton, OH posted his best USCS finish of the season with a fifth-place effort in the Garrett Farms Stealth/Garrett. Red Stauffer of Winter Park, FL came back from a lap 14 spin to finish sixth in the CB Mushroom Shaw/Ott. Chris Hill of Wedowee, AL was seventh in the Hill Brothers Air and Hydraulics Challenger/Slobuilt.

R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN rallied from the 19th starting spot to finish eighth in the Leaf Race Wear/Pin Rings J&J/ZRE. Johnson was the Huggins Race Cams Hard Charger of the Race. Chad Allum of Kannapolis, NC finished ninth in the Heintz Performance Allum/Allum, and Brice Wrenn of Lexington, SC rounded out the top ten in the Stainless Fabricators Hench/Gaerte.

Wrenn was running fourth, but spun coming off the fourth turn on the last lap. Another driver that had a top five run going was Doug Day of Winder, GA in the Gotta Race Eagle/Dingler. With Wrenn's spin, Day took the checkered flag in the fourth spot, but failed to cross the scales after the race, and was disqualified.

Gray beat polesitter Stauffer into the first turn at the start of the race, and Adams jumped up on the outside cushion to move up to the second spot. The first of four caution flags came out on lap four when Matt Stegeman of Dover, FL spun the Brandon Ford Avenger/Mercer.

On the restart, Adams dove under Gray in turn three to take the lead. Gray countered by trying to dive back under Adams in turn four, and the pair raced side-by-side down the frontstretch before Adams took the lead for good in turn one.

Behind the two leaders, Martin and Wrenn raced side-by-side for several laps battling for the third spot. Martin worked the cushion and made the pass for the position stick on lap 19.

The most serious incident of the race occurred on lap 14 when several cars tangled and spun down the front straightaway. Stegeman flipped twice to bring out the red flag, but he was uninjured. Stegeman, Jeremy Scott of Franklin, GA in the Vortex Bar and Grill Pro Lite/June Bug, Randy Helton of Palmetto, GA in the Helton Transmission Maxim/ERI, and Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL in the Goodson Farms Shaw/Ott were done for the night.

Wrenn and Allum won the two ten-lap heat races, and Adams won the six-lap Air Flow Research Power Dash. The next event for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Dirt Tour will be Saturday night at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA.
