ADAMS LOOKS FOR EIGHTH O'REILLY USCS SENOIA SPEEDWAY WIN THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
FAYETTEVILLE, GA - The 2000 O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series National Champion Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL will arrive as one of the favorites this Saturday night when the series' Asphalt Thunder Tour visits Senoia Speedway. The "Malabar Missile" has won seven of nine O'Reilly USCS events at the 3/8-mile high-banked paved oval since 2000.
Adams is currently second in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings, four points behind the defending and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN. Adams won the season opener for the series, an Asphalt Thunder event at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL in March.
Adams is currently fourth in the current O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour points chase, 28 points out of first place. In the past, Adams' main foe on the pavement came from last year's Asphalt Thunder Champion Gray, but some new faces have arrived on the scene for 2005.
Wayne Reutimann Jr. of Zephyrhills, FL leads the O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour points coming into the Senoia Speedway race this Saturday night. The third-generation driver has two wins on the pavement this season, and Reutimann also has a 2002 O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder win at Senoia Speedway on his resume.
Ryan Myers of Eldorado, OH has found a successful asphalt setup, and the 18-year-old SpeedMart Young Gun has used a string of four straight top three finishes to ride second in the O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder point standings, just six points behind Reutimann. Gray is third in the Asphalt Thunder Tour points, 12 points behind Myers.
Danny "The Hammer" Martin of Sarasota, FL rounds out the top five in the O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder point standings followed by Wayne Reutimann Sr. of Zephyrhills, FL, leading Rookie of the Year candidate Matt Tiffany of Daytona Beach, FL, Brian Thomas of Auburn, GA, Rookie of the Year contender Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL, and O'Reilly USCS 2004 Rookie of the Year R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN.
The O'Reilly USCS Asphalt Thunder Tour will compete in time trials, heat races, and a 40-lap feature race. In addition to the O'Reilly USCS winged out law sprint cars, the Senoia Speedway Iceman, Pro Challenge, Street Stock, Sportsman, Legend, and Bandolero Divisions will also be in action this Saturday night.
The pit gate opens at 2:30 p.m., with hot laps set for 4 p.m., qualifying at 6:45 p.m., and racing at 7:30 p.m. Senoia Speedway is located 3.5 miles west of Senoia, GA off State Road 16 on Brown Road.
