O'REILLY USCS DRIVERS FROM 12 STATES TO CONVERGE ON DIXIE SPEEDWAY THIS WEEKEND
FAYETTEVILLE, GA - Winged outlaw sprint car drivers from 12 states will converge on Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA this Friday and Saturday nights for O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series action. Three feature races will highlight the weekend's events over two nights on the 3/8-mile clay oval.
Friday night's event will be a rescheduled race from an August 6 rainout. The full program will have the O'Reilly USCS sprint cars competing in heat races, a B-Main, and a 25-lap A-Main. On Saturday night, there will be heat races, a B-main and the "Dixie Double" twin 25-lap A-Mains. There will also be a six-car, six-lap Air Flow Research Power Dash each night.
A single driver could win up to $20,000 in prize money and bonuses over the two nights of racing. A $10,000 bonus will be paid if a driver can win both A-Mains on Saturday night. The first A-Main will start straight up, and the start of the second A-Main will be completely inverted from the finish of the first A-Main.
Current O'Reilly USCS National point leader Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL will lead the series regulars with 17 wins on the season. The defending and four-time O'Reilly USCS National Champion Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN will join Adams.
Danny Martin Jr. of Sarasota, FL will lead the SpeedMart Young Guns of the O'Reilly USCS, a group of drivers under the age of 25. Joining 19-year-old Martin will be 20-year-old Bryn Gohn of Malabar, FL, 16-year-old Matt Tiffany of Daytona Beach, FL, and 18-year-old R.J. Johnson of Decatur, TN.
Johnny Bridges of Cherryville, NC, Chad Allum of Kannapolis, NC, Bruce Cline of Apex, NC, and Dave Thorman of Greenville, SC will represent the Carolinas. Georgia drivers Brian Thomas of Auburn, GA, Randy Helton of Palmetto, GA, and Shane Stafford of Gainesville, GA will be at Dixie Speedway to defend their home turf.
Midwestern standouts traveling to Dixie Speedway include Ohio drivers Kenny Jacobs, Greg Wilson, and Ryan Myers, along with Scott Young of Union Grove, WI. Top Eastern Seaboard drivers looking for a big payday this weekend include Delaware drivers Curt Michael and Becca Anderson, plus Josh Weller from Pennsylvania and Mike Kostic from New Jersey.
Skeeter Faulconer of Lutz, FL, Stephen Darvalics of Venice, FL, Brian Maddox of Brandon, FL, and Bryan Eckley of Tampa, FL will also represent Florida. Chris Hill will return to O'Reilly USCS competition to represent Alabama.
Several Mid-South drivers are also expected to make the trip to Woodstock, GA, including Memphis, TN drivers Paul Sides, Wesley Hale, and Lee Sowell, plus Mississippi drivers Andy McElhannon, and Eric White.
Each day, the pit gate opens at 4 p.m., the grandstand gate opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are set for 6:30 p.m., and racing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Along with the O'Reilly USCS winged outlaw sprint cars, the Econo and Super Bombers will be in action each night, with the Limited Late Models and Cruisers on Friday day night, and the Super Late Models and Pony Stocks on Saturday night.
