USCS announces new 24 race "King of Carolina" Challenge Series
Charlotte, NC - United Sprint Car Series Founder and President, Pete Walton and series co-owner, former Winston Cup star, Ernie Irvan have announced the establishment of a new USCS Carolina based regional winged sprint car series. Walton said, "The series will be called the USCS "King of Carolina" Challenge Series and will be contested at both paved and dirt ovals in North and South Carolina and (just like in 2004) drivers will be able to have the opportunity of using the paved oval events to delete bad performances at dirt tracks but will not be penalized for not participating in those events. Some of these events will be stand alone "King of Carolina" points`events and some will be combined with National points events. A complete format of the the schedule in this regards will be released next week.
Walton said, "We are extremely excited about this expansion upon the plan Ernie and I had when we acquired the AOAS (American Outlaw Action Series) last January. We sincerely appreciate all the support we have enjoyed from the Carolina based sprint car teams that traveled to our events throughout the Southeast in 2004. We really appreciate their efforts along with everyone else that participated in the 33 events held so far this season. We are now delivering on the promise we made to those Carolina based drivers to have many more events in North Carolina, South Carolina and possibly Virginia.
The USCS King (or possible Queen) of Carolina Challenge Series will have it's own point system and it's own point's fund in excess $10,000 guaranteed. Over a dozen sponsors are already on board to support the cash point fund rewards including Airflow Research Cylinder Heads, Corporate Image Graphics, Inc., FSR Racing Products, Hart Racing, Hoosier Racing Tires, Huggins Cams, Kool Beans Trophy and Awards, KSE Racing Products, Pro Shocks, Schoenfeld Headers, Weld Racing.
It was a great year for the USCS and our 2005 National, and regional event schedules will reflect that by the increased number of tracks where we will be racing." Walton continued "Our entire 2005 schedule of over 50 events should be complete and ready for publication by the end of next week before we leave for our Volusia Speedway Park races on October 23-24th.
