Wiesz three-peats in thriller at TCS Sprint show

Marysville CA - June 7 2003 Colfax's Colby Wiesz won his third straight main event at the New Twin Cities Speedway before another great crowd and narrowed the gap between himself and point leader, Yuba City's, Korey Lovell. Fast time qualifier Wiesz was penalized and could start no better than ninth starting for a qualifying order infraction. The TCS Sprint Cars roared to life and the main event was a barn-burner.

Point leader and current track champion Korey Lovell and twin brother Kevin rocketed away from the field at the drop of the green. The event stayed green to half way and Wiesz was on the move. Wiesz had moved into 4th position when the only yellow flag of the event unfurled.

At the new green, Wiesz was on the move again. He quickly dispatched Robert Stice and went after the Lovells. He got by Kevin Lovell for second. Korey Lovell had trouble with lapped cars and Wiesz pounced. Wiesz led the final laps to his third consecutive and fourth total victory of the year. Wiesz beat Kevin Lovell, Korey Lovell, Kyle Shield and Mike Wasina to the line.

Next Saturday night the premiere sprint car show in Northern California comes to TCS. The California Sprint Car Civil War comes to town. Gates open at 5 with qualifying slated for 6:30. The first race is scheduled for 7:30.

On Saturday June 21st a 5 division extravaganza will return featuring the TCS Stock Car and Mini-Stock Series', the BCRA Midget Lites, The Nor Cal Dwarf Cars and the NCMA Super Sprints. The gates open at 5 with racing scheduled for 7 PM. Please check our website at www.twincitiesspeedway.net for further information and updates as they occur.
