Walker & White among those to test at Tulsa Fairgrounds on Thursday
TULSA, Okla. (August 26, 2003) - USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series hotshoes Tyler Walker and Paul White are among those slated to take part in Thursday afternoon's open practice session at Tulsa Fairgrounds Motorplex. The practice session, in anticipation of the inaugural USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series Tulsa "100", is free of charge to the public.
The practice session atop the ¾-mile dirt oval will begin at approximately 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, following a 2:00 p.m. press conference. The much-anticipated Tulsa "100" on Sunday, September 14, marks the return of auto racing to the Tulsa Fairgrounds for the first time since 1984.
A native Californian that now resides in Tulsa, Walker is best known for his Sprint Car exploits, including last year's World of Outlaws Gumout Series championship. In his first full season on the USAC Silver Crown trail, Walker is currently ranked a strong eighth in series points and posted a third place finish in the most recent dirt track race at Springfield, IL, on August 16 aboard the R.E. Technologies Racing Team entry.
Also expected for Thursday's practice session will be Temple, TX, driver Paul White, who won the USAC Silver Crown series championship in 2001. White is currently ranked seventh in points aboard the Paul Cook Racing entry. Murray Erickson of Odessa, TX, is also expected to be on hand Thursday aboard the Guardian Racing machine. Several other teams have been invited as well.
Luxury box seats for the Sunday, September 14, USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series Tulsa "100" have already been sold. Reserved seating remains for $31, with general admission tickets available for just $26. General admission for children ages 6-11 is $11.

Tickets for the Night Before the "100" USAC Midget event, which will feature many of same open wheel non-wing stars that will race at the Tulsa Fairgrounds Motorplex the next day, including current USAC Silver Crown, Midget and Sprint Car point leader J.J. Yeley, defending USAC National Midget champion Dave Darland, Tracy Hines and many more, are available for $20 in advance and $22 on race day.
