TULSA, Okla. (April 16, 2003) - Everybody is invited to stop by the Love's Travel Stop at I-20 and Polk Road in Dallas, TX, on Friday, April 18, to meet ASCS National Title contender Travis Rilat and get an up close and personal look at the Sprint Car he'll be racing later that night at nearby Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Tex.
Travis, who claimed an ASCS National triumph at Devil's Bowl Speedway last year, will be on hand with his Sprint Car from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, greeting fans and signing autographs prior to Friday night's event for the O'Reilly Auto Parts American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers.
A native of Texas City, Travis recently moved to Forney, TX. Travis is a former Rookie of the Year with not only the ASCS in 1998, but also the NCRA and All-Stars. Last season, Travis claimed a $30,000 winner's check by topping the Non-Winged Ultimate Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA, charging from deep in the field to claim the victory over the nation's top non-winged Sprint Car drivers. This year, Rilat has joined forces with car owners Archer Motorsports and Fred and Jo Threatt in an effort to snare the ASCS National Title.
The Love's Travel Stop is located in Dallas at I-20 and Polk Road (Exit 466). Racing gets under way later that evening at 8:30 p.m. at Devil's Bowl Speedway, which is located six miles east of I-635 on US 80, then three miles south on Lawson Road.
