Team MAXIM continued it's torrid early season pace this past weekend by sweeping Eldora and Attica in Ohio, winning both 410 winged Sprint features in California, getting the Early Bird Championship at Williams Grove in Central Pennsylvania, and adding Cowtown in Texas for good measure.
Steve Kinser hauled over $17,000 out of Eldora after sweeping both Friday and Saturday's A Main events with the World of Outlaws at the Rossburg, Ohio track. Kinser secured his 501st World of Outlaws A main victory Saturday with a last lap pass in his Quaker State MAXIM.
"This team of mine has been doing a great job for the last couple of years, and it's just been a pleasure being able to drive a car this good," said Kinser Friday after winning.
The win was Kinser's 30th triumph in sanctioned World of Outlaws competition at Eldora, giving him a 30% win ratio at the facility.
Danny Smith posted his second win in as many weeks at the Attica Raceway Park, Ohio opener last Friday, driving his Pence Olds MAXIM to the win in the 28 lap event.
Jason Statler, driving the DF Rios Construction MAXIM, took the win at Chico, California's Silver Dollar Speedway. The win marked the third consecutive weekend that Statler put his MAXIM in victory lane. He also extended his points lead at Silver Dollar.
West Coast MAXIM dealer Brent Kaeding added to Antioch to his win column for 2004. Kaeding took the win at Antioch with the Al's Plumbing/High Five Pizza MAXIM prepped by the Hogs. Kaeding can be reached at 408-371-3031 for more information on MAXIM Chassis.
Greg Hodnett came from 10th starting spot at Williams Grove Speedway's Early Bird Championship, earning $6,000 for the Bob Stewart-owned, Lee Stauffer-prepped Apple Dealers MAXIM team. Hodnett took the lead for the win with less than two laps to go. Hodnett and Stauffer have won five of the six features staged at the Grove in 2004.
Cowtown Speedway in Texas saw the checkered flag wave first over Travis Rilat and his MAXIM.
