NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (July 8, 2004) - Point leader Fred Rahmer raced to his second Susquehanna Speedway Park Sprint Car feature win of the season on Thursday evening. In other racing action, Tom Johns claimed the Xtreme Enduro Stock Car feature event and Rodney Kistler won the Central PA Legends Cars event.

The 25-lap Sprint Car feature event saw three different leaders in the first three laps, but track point leader Fred Rahmer quickly showed he was the class of the field. Brent Kluge led the first lap before yielding to Eric Stambaugh on lap number two. Meanwhile Rahmer was blasting forward from the eighth starting spot. He slipped by Stambaugh to lead the third lap, and then drove away from the field. By the conclusion of the race, Rahmer had lapped all but the top six cars, and was on the tail of sixth place finisher Kluge. The $2,500 win was Rahmer's fifteenth overall this season, and his 20th career at SSP. Lance Dewease finished second in the feature event, with Stambaugh third. Greg Hodnett and Jim Siegel completed the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Kluge, Dave Cordier, Brian Leppo, Josh Wells, and Chad Jumper. Sprint heats went to Rahmer and Stambaugh.

Like the Sprint Car event, the 15-lap Central PA Legends Cars feature saw three different leaders. Andy Lupfer led the first lap before yielding the top spot to Ray Swank. Swank held on to the lead for eight laps til, Rodney Kistler took over. But, unlike the Sprint Car event, Kistler wasn't home free. Veteran racer Ronnie Dunstan, an SSP Late Model champion in the 1960's, caught Kistler with several laps remaining and applied heavy pressure to the finish. In the end it was Kistler the winner over Dunstan, Swank, Lupfer, and Jason Rochelle. Heats went to Dunstan and Rochelle.

After two weeks of terrible luck, Tom Johns started from the pole position and led every lap of the 20 lap Xtreme Enduro Stock Car feature event. Johns scored the win over Curtis Nichols, Matt Wampler, Charlie Pensinger and Alan Miller. Heats went to Johns and Larry Hare, with Nichols taking the Pepsi Dash.

The next race will be Thursday Night, July 15 as SSP hosts "Christmas in July" with a visit from Santa Claus and a toy scramble for all children. The One-on-One Street Legal Drags for $250 to win will also return. Prospective participants are advised to contact the speedway offices now to reserve a spot as entries are filling up fast and are limited. Racing divisions include the 410 Sprint Cars, Xtreme Enduro Stock Cars and the PA Four Cylinders.
