Stage Set for "Mini Sprint Sizzler" at Fulton

Sodus, New York - Central New York Mini Sprint (CNYMS) teams will travel to Fulton (NY) Speedway on July 15 for the "Mid Summer Mini Sprint Sizzler." Patterned after the successful 1999 Six Gun Shootout races promoted by Branich Motorsports of Williamson, NY, the Sizzler is sure to feature fast and furious mini sprint action on the high banks of the Harvey Fink-promoted facility. Papa Joe's Restaurant and Sodas Bay Tackle and Outfitters, both of Sodus Point, NY, will sponsor the special mini sprint event. Both companies are located on picturesque Sodus Bay on the southern Lake Ontario shoreline in upstate New York. They provide a wide range of services catering to the sportfishing enthusiast, from fishing tackle sales and service, to sportfishing charters, to food and lodging. Papa Joe's sponsored a Six Gun events in 1999, and their support of the Sizzler reaffirms their commitment to return mini sprint racing in the central NY region. The mini sprint feature race will pay $650 to win and $75 to take the green flag, based on a 24-car field. Several contingency sponsors have signed on to support the race. Seymour Enterprises (Marlboro, Massachusetts) will provide a gift certificate to the highest finisher in the race who has not already won a certificate on the regular CNYMS tour. Bicknell Racing Products (Niagara Falls, NY) will provide a gift certificate to a feature finisher. Weld Wheels (Kansas City, MO) will provide a gift certificate to the race Hard Charger. Farrell Oil (Milford, NY) will provide a Kendall Motor Oil product package to the race winner. The race is open to 1200 cc as well as 750 cc powered machines, and there will be a $50 bonus to the first 750 across the finish line in the feature. The race entry fee will be $35 per car for all drivers holding a valid mini sprint license (CNYMS, AMSA, Outlaw Mini Sprints, etc.). All feature race non-qualifiers will receive $25 in tow money. The race is sanctioned by CNYMS, so club rules will apply to the race. In addition, Fulton Speedway will run its regular program on July 15th. Gates open at 5 PM, with racing starting at 7 PM. In the event of bad weather, a raindate for the Sizzler has been set for July 29th.
