Hull wins both sprint features at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Jerrod Hull of Sikeston had a holiday weekend to remember Friday and Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway as he captured both night's sprint car feature.

On Friday night (July 4), Hull outdueled both Timmy and Joey Montgomery to pick up the checkered flag. Timmy settled for second place with Joey third, Tommy Worley Jr. was fourth and Steve Short was fifth. They were followed by Lee Dunn, Ronnie Standridge, Jason Hunt, Jason Keith and Keith Burch.

Jeff Davis won the first heat race with Bob Thoman second and Hunt third. Hull won the second heat with Standridge second and Worley third. Jason Evans won the third heat with Timmy Montgomery second and Short third. Joey Montgomery won the fourth heat with Dunn second and Greg Burns third. Hull won the dash with Timmy Montgomery second and Dunn third. Danny Long won the "B" main with Kenny Hambrick second and John Epperson third.

In the Modified feature, Jeff LeBaube was the winner with Timmy Hill taking second, Brent Thompson third, Billy "The Kid" Smith fourth and Mike Crader fifth. They were followed by Jeremy Stevens, Tony Palmer, Lou Dreimier, Butch Lyons and Steve Smith.

LeBaube won the first heat with Smith second and Stevens third. Kenny Kennedy won the second heat with Thompson second and Smith third. Hill won the third heat with Pete Koenig second and Crader third.

In the Hobby Stock class, Jeremy Greenwalt drove his #18 car to victory lane with Matt Eaton taking second place, Chris Boyd was third, Randy Forster fourth and Kasey Nations fifth. They were followed by Danny Mosier, Kenny Harris, Nathan Gibson, Kevin Mosier and Jim Abshier. Greenwalt won the first heat with Doug Savage second and Boyd third. Chuck Adams won the second heat with Eaton second and Forster third. In the 600cc Multi, Derek O'Dell was the feature winner with Dustin Barks second, Casey Barnhouse third, Kent Buckley fourth and Tyler Robbins fifth. They were followed by Joey Boyd, Junior Ferguson, Tommy Boyd, Rodney Williams and Jeremy Boyer.

O'Dell won the first heat with Jimmy Bridgeman second and Joey Boyd third. Robbins won the second heat with Barks second and Ferguson third. Barnhouse won heat #3 with Buckley second and Tyler Thompson third. Conner Thompson won the "B" main with Ray Statler second and Dave Chilton third.

On Saturday night (July 5) in the Sprint feature, once again it was Hull first, Timmy Montgomery second and Joey Montgomery third. Jimmy Moughan settled for fourth place with fifth going to Worley Jr. They were followed by Terry Babb, Ronnie Standridge, Steve Short, Jeff Davis and Bob Thoman.

Davis won the first heat with Keith Burch second and Short third. Worley Jr. won the second heat with Greg Burns second and Standridge third. Moughan won the third heat with Joey Montgomery second and Babb third. Davis won the dash with Hull second and Timmy Montgomery third. Timmy Moss won the "B" main with Bryan Matthews second and Kenny Hambrick third.

In the Modified class feature, Pete Koenig visited victory lane with Tim Radford second, Jeff LeBaube third, Butch Lyons fourth and Matt Zimmerly fifth. They were followed by Mike Crader, Timmy Hill, R.C. Hovis, # B3 (sorry, no name) and Tommy Worley Sr.

Dr. Chris Sloan won the first heat race with Lyons second and Hovis third. Koenig won the second heat with Radford second and Zimmerly third. Kenny Kennedy won the third heat with LeBaube second and Billy Smith third. Worley Sr. won the "B" main with Glen Miller second.

In the Hobby Stock class feature it was Chris Boyd of Park Hills picking up the victory with Chuck Adams settling for second place, Randy Forster third, Matt Eaton fourth and Jeremy Greenwalt fifth. They were followed by Kasey Nations, Doug Savage, Danny Mosier and Leonard Betch.

Savage won the first heat with Nathan Gibson second and Joe Clark third. Boyd won the second heat with Kevin Mosier second and Eaton third.

In the 600cc Multi class, Lance McKinney held off the charge of Derek O'Dell to win the feature. Brad Loyet settled for third with Junior Ferguson fourth and Tyler Robbins fifth. They were followed by Casey Barnhouse, Dustin Barks, Jimmy Bridgeman, Mat Dotson and Jeremy Boyer. McKinney won the first heat with O'Dell second and Josh Kennedy third. Loyet won heat number two with Bridgeman second and Art Knepper third. Ferguson won the third heat with Barnhouse second and Robbins third. Tommy Boyd won the "B" main with Boyer second and Jake Bess third.

This Saturday night (July 12) at the St. Francois County Raceway is $5 Night. Adult admission for the main grandstand area will be only $5 with kids admitted free. It's the Mid-Season Championships at SFCR this Saturday night with double points awarded in every class. It will also pay the sprint cars $300 to start the "A" main. The RAMS Mini Stocks will also be there for their second RAMS Points Series race of two.

In a special event just signed for Saturday, July 26th at SFCR, the All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCOC) will visit the track. On that night the Modifieds and Hobby Stocks will not be racing. The 600cc Multis will be a part of the show and will pay $500 to win the feature with $50 to start. Grandstand admission that night will be $20. Jack Hewitt will also be in town on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to sign autographs for his new book (at a site yet to be determined).
