FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (Sept. 29, 2001) The 2001 racing season at the St. Francois County Raceway came to a close Saturday night when Kelly Kinser captured the $5,000 first place prize for winning the Missouri/Illinois Clash sprint car feature race.

In the feature, Kinser picked up the checkered flag with Timmy Montgomery second, Jerrod Hull third, Tommy Worley Jr. fourth, and Joey Montgomery fifth. They were followed by Ronnie Standridge, Jerrod Wilson, Jay Landolt, Robbie Standridge and Tom Busch.

Joey Montgomery won the first heat with Wilson second. Jeff Mitrasin won the second heat with Hull second. Kinser won the third heat with Lee Dunn second. Worley Jr. won the fourth heat with Robbie Standridge second. Terry McCarl won the fifth heat with Ronnie Standridge second.

Wayne Sternberg won the "C" main with Danny Long second. Terry Babb won the "B" main with Timmy Montgomery second. Joey Montgomery won the trophy dash with Dunn second and McCarl third.

In the Modified class feature, Tim Hill was the winner with Greg Gross second, Eric Mabery third, Brent Thompson fourth and Billy Smith fifth. They were followed by Danny Resinger, Mike Crader, Kevin Gegg, Dylan Sharp and Jim Brayton Sr.

Gegg won the first heat with Jim Beishir second and Mabery third. Hill won the second heat with Resigner second and Thompson third. Beishir won the trophy dash with Hill second and Thompson third.

In the Hobby Stock feature, Randy Forster of Farmington was the champion with Jeremy Greenwalt second, Karl Francis third, Billy Ames fourth and Chuck Adams fifth. They were followed by Kent Nations, Mark Howell, Chris Boyd, Doug Savage and Billy Mayberry.

Adams won the first heat with Greenwalt second and Howell third. Forster won the second heat with Kevin Mosier second and Ames third. Nations won the third heat with Kasey Nations second and Francis third. Kasey Nations won the trophy dash with Greenwalt second for Forster third.

The night of racing capped off the 2001 season at SFCR. There will be a racing parts swap meet for all interested racers and person at the exhibition barn at the raceway on Saturday, Oct. 20th, beginning at 8 a.m. For more information and to reserve a space phone (573) 756-1734.
